Education-STAR THEATER Amusements--- 1916 DELINQUENT TAX LIST. I - 1 NEW HART PLAY, Twenty Thousand Head of . Cattle Filmed In Triangle Feature "Wolf Lowry." Those who never visited the west would receive a great surprise if they could see the large expanse of coun try that is necessary for cattle graz ing. Very few people realize the area necessary to graze one head of beef per year. Twelve thousand acres of good grazing ground is necessary to sustain 1,500 head of cattle through out the year, or, in other words, it takes eight acres per head. In the new Trlangle-Ince produc tion "Wolf Lowry," starring William S. Hart, the scenario called for the showing of large herds of cattle. Hart, who appears as a ranchman for the first time in his career, ac companied by Cliff Smith, his assis tant, and Camera Man Joe August, spent a week on the Mexican border, the point nearest Los Angeles, rain ing cattle in large numbers. ' "I located a "herd," said Hart, "and had about forty punchers round them up. Before 'shooting' the scenes I asked my camera man to guess as to the number of the herd. After look ing down into the valley for several minutes he answered that there must be at least 20,000 head. I then gave hlra orders to film the scene. There were only 1,500 beef, but I had secur ed the effect I wanted. You would be surprised at the amount of terri tory 1,500 head can cover." . .;..' not to kill him. Margery Wilson appears a? the girl who enters the somber life of "Wolf" Lowry. Aaron Edwards as Buck Fanning, the real estate agent and former gambler, and Carl Ullman as Owen Thorpe are among those in the supporting cast. "WOLF LOWRY" STARS . WILLIAM 8. HART. Cr "Wolf Lowry" is the title of the new Triangle-Ince play starring Wil liam S.'Hart at the Star theater Sun day and Monday. It is produced un der the direction of Thomas H. Ince and was written by Charles Turner Dazey. As "Wolf" Lowry Hart turns from the grim, warrior-like ranchman to a man of softer nature. This great change In pis life is brought about by meeting Mary Davis, who he thinks is a settler taking a claim in the midst of his domain. His friend ship for her develops into love, and ho becomes her champion. Buck Fanning, a designing real es tate agent, visits her and makes coarse and violent love. Lowry, on his way to see Mary, arrives in time to save her and gives Buck one min ute to live, but she persuades "Wolf" Not So Altruistic. "I'm working hard to get several of my friends on an Investigation com mittee," announced Congressman Flubdub. "That shows goodfellowship on your part. Who Is the committee go ing to investigate?" "Me." ' Entirely. "Would you call a girl who plays the harp a harpy?" "Depends on how she plays it." Always Uneasy. "I suppose you travel on Easy street now with your big car?" "No sir. The traffic cops have fix ed it so there is no easy street for the motorist." Handicapped. (Boston Transcript.)
