The maximiim price that will be paid for wool by the government in all its purchases has been fixed and is announced this morning. It is on a scoured wool basis that figures about 50 cents a pound to growers in this locality. The government does not attempt to regulate the price except for gov ernmentcontracts, but as the govern ment has an agreement with dealers for half of their wools at this price, there is little chance of the growers getting more.
