The warm weather of the past ten days has been hard on the late sown grain which is showing the effects of the drouth very much. This its quite true all over the county, and unless rain comes soon, there is much of the crops that will be a failure. The prevailing northwest winds have had a very drying effect and much of the grain was not in condition to stand it. Fall sown grain and much of the early spring sowing yet looks fine, and should rains come In a short time, they will mako good yields. In a trip over the wheat belt of the coun ty the past week, thousands of acres of very fine grain was seen by a rep resentative of this paper, and it was in such state of advancement that any serious damage would not seem possible. We have also been inr formed by reliable parties that out toward the sand country the crops are yet in excellent condition and the dry weather has so far had no dele terious effect. A good rain right now would be appreciated throughout the wheat growing section, and we hope that it will be forthcoming.
