It opened Satur day evening and continued through out Sunday and, Sunday evening. With the help of Union 17 officers and the lone and Heppner C. E. so cieties, we feel that we had a genu ine rally. Miss Rice of Milton, the Columbia Union secretary and Miss Hoosisr of Stan fields chairman of the prayer meeting committee, delivered splen did addresses along their special line of work. Miss Stoops and Oliva Hartwell represented the lone C. E. and Norton Wlnnard the Heppner C. E. Sunday afternoon was proba bly enjoyed as much as any of the Rally, when the Juniors gave their program. Mrs. Karl Beach had this program In charge and with the help to the Jene Juniors and also Rev. Lee Sadler a very Interesting program was given. A great deal of the suc cess of the Rally is owed to the large attendance and the Lexington C. E's. do appreciate the interest shown not only by local people but also those who came some distance to attend and help the work. Rev. Blackman of Arlington at tended the Rally Sunday and was so pleased with the Lexington orches tra that he suggested they play at Arlington for the rally to be held there some time this month. One feature of Sunday's program which was enjoyed by all was the social hour and basket supper which fol lowed. It has been some time since a picnic supper had been held in Lex ington and so well attended. We wish we could have more of such events to better acquaint uuroelves with our neighboring people. Quite a number of Lexington peo ple returned from Portland last week where they attended the Rose Show. Among these were George McMillan, W. E. Pointer, Harvey McAHster, Mrs. Chas. Pointer and Clyde Gentry. Harvey Miller, son of E. C. Miller, is visiting in Lexington this week. Mr. Miller has made his home near First WE Lexington during the summer sea sons. He is a graduate of the U. of O. in the 1917 class. E. A. Zochert is now drayman, Prof. Doak having bought a ranch In the lone vicinity. Mr. Daok expects to move from Lexington the first of the week. Word has been received that Mar shal McAlister, one of Lexington's young men, has enlisted with the en glneering corps of the army. Mrs. J. L. Jones of lone was a Lex ington visitor on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Beach returned to their home in Portland Monday. W. D. Newlon was a business vis itor In Lexington Monday., Mrs. Warden is making an extend ed visit with her sister and friends in Portland. At 10:30 the Sunday school and congregation will unite in a patriotic program to be given by the children of the Sunday school and others. Among other good things we shall have a short address to the children on the "Meaning of Patriotism," by Mrs. Shurte; ' a solo by Mrs. Sims; short address, "The Duty of the Cltl zen," by Mr. Woodson; unveiling of the "Heppner Honor Roll."
