Mrs. Hansen is a native of Ireland. Glen Boyer Buys Ranch. Another big Morrow county land deal of the past week involves the transfer of Ed Day's Rhea creek ranch of 280 acres to Glenn Boyer for $14,000. The greater part of the ranch lays on the creek and is heavy producer of alfalfa. There are many improvements on the place, including a new house that has every modern convenience. The Roe Bible class of the Federat ed Sunday School gave their teacher, Mrs. C. E, Woodson, a handkerchief shower last Friday afternoon in the class room at the Federated church, Miss Ann! Forbes, in an appropriate speech of presentation, raised an um brella over Mrs. Woodson's head and the shower Of handkerchiefs fell about the recipient. Refreshments were served to the twenty young women who were present. Roe Bible class meets the third Friday of each month for social and educational pur poses. J. A. TROEDSON, Morgan, Ore. Boys Had Long Hunting Trip, Two weeks ago Arthur McAtee and Henry Aiken hired1 a team from a lo cal livery barn and1 went up into the mountains for a fishing trip. Cefore they returned- home, their trip de veloped into one of hunting, rather than fishing, for during their absence from camp the horses got loose and made their get away. The boys tracked the horses as far as the head of Butter creek, but at that point the tracks had been obliterated by a band of sheep. One of the horses was raised in the Butter creek section and it is believed that they will be found there. Both of the animals are white fa color and both had halters on. The annual school meeting for the election of one director and clerk was held on Monday afternoon at the council rooms. W. B. Barratt was elected director without opposi tion, while Vawter Crawford was chosen clerk over J. A. Waters, these two being placed in nomination for the position before the meeting. As usual, where there is no particular issue up the Interest was nil, and only fifteen votes were polled. The annual report of retiring Clerk Hill was read and accepted. A sum mary of this report shows: Balance on hand at the time of making last annual report, June, 1916, $1660.58; received from County Treasurer from district tax, $14,180.75; received from County Treasurer from county school fund, $2509.50; received from County Treasurer from State school fund, $589.41; received from county high school fund $2063.18; re celved from all other sources, $1300.- 17; total, $26,603.93. Paid for tenr-hnrs waees. $9212.50; paid for fuel and school supplies, $1291.66; paid for repairs, improving grounds and Janitor, $2016.66; paid on pnn cipal and interest on bonds and war rants, $11,696.70; clerk's salary, $100; paid for library books, $233. 52; for all other purposes, $1676. 73; total expenditures, $26,127.77; cash on hand, $375.62.
