NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday the 3rd day of Decem
ber, 19H. the County Court of Morrow County, Oregon, will be in regular
session at the Court House in Heppner, Oregon, and any taxpayer of Mor
row County, Oregon, will bo heard In favor of or against the proposed tax
levy as hereinafter proposed.
ITIMIZED STATEMENT.
Trepared in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 234 of the 1913
Oregon Session Laws, showing an estimate of the amount of money re
Quired to be raised by taxation by Morrow County, Oregon, for the year
1915, to maintain each department of the county government, county office
or officer, and for each county improvement, the maintenance of each coun
ty building, structure or institution, and for the salary of each county offi
cer, or employee, and for the improvement and maintenance of public high
ways, roads and bridges, and for other contemplated expenditures.
Also showing the probable receipts of Morrow County, Oregon, from
sources other than direct taxation upon real and personal property for the
year 1915, and also the amount of the balances of the various funds of

By virtue of an execution and or
der of sale issued by the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Morrow County,
State of Oregon, dated the 30th day
of October, 1914, in a suit In said
court wherein the Vermont Loan
and Trust Company, a Corporation,
recovered judgment against Chas. L.
Brown and Effle L. Brown, his wife,
for the sum of $800.00 with interest
at the rate of 5 per cent per annum
from November 1st, 1913, until paid,
$40.00 with interest at 10 per cent
per annum from November 1st, 1912,
$40.00 with interest at 10 per cent
per annum from November 1st, 1913,
and the further sum of $80.00 attor
ney's fee, and costs and disburse
ments taxed and allowed in the sum
of $17.20, which judgment was re
covered on the 18th day of Septem
ber, 1914.

have been elected as delegates from
the Federated Sunday School to the
Boy's Conference, to be held In Mc
Minnvllle, beginning with next
Thursday and lasting over the fol
lowing Sunday. It Is tne Intention
of the Christian Sunday School to
send one or two delegates to this
convention but they have not yet
been elected at this writing.
Houlton Is to have a beter depot.
Engineers are planning an irriga
tion project for Silver Lake Valley.
Pendleton retailers will boost pro
ducts of Pendleton manufacturers.
A thirty mile road is to be built
from Prairie City to Long Creek.
Marshfield Is planning a drainage
and sewer system to cost $65,000 to
$75,000.
There are 95,756 million board
feet of Douglas fir in Washington
Oregon and Alaska forest reserves.
The Interurban Telephone System
of Sllverton has been authorized to
raise its rates by the state railroad
commission.
Contract has been let for hard-surfacing
Pacific highway from Wood
land to La Center.
The Western Coast Mining Co.
have been taking out $100 a day in
their Bohemia mine.
"Blanket" orders for lumber are
being placed through the Douglas
Fir Sales Co., at Portland, at better
prices.
Geo. Orr, a Modoc Indian Is build
ing up a large industry at Hood Riv
er in the manufacture of Indian
wampum.
If the Oregon Legislature heeds
the wish of the people there will be
mighty few laws passed at the open
ing session which interefer with our
industries.
