A J 23-A 20. IRRIGON ITEMS Mr. and Mrs. Ames were Irrigon vtstors Monday, guests of the Rands. L. W. Scarborough, of Hermiston was a business visitor in Irrigon last Wednesday. Fred Rleks drove Cora and Gertie Kicker to Umatilla Saturday night to take in the show. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mlnntck wore in Umatilla, for a short time Friday morning doing some shopping. Mrs. Earl Baucom has returned from Pendleton where she spent five or six days with her mother. Mrs. Castle is home from a visit with her daughter in Echo. She ar rived here Wednesday morning. Jesse Davis was home for a few days from Dayton and returned to harvest with one of his father's teams. Mrs. N. Seaman was in Arlington Thursday on business. She took No. 5 down in the morning and returned on No. 12 that night. Lester Susbauer is here from the Valley and will attend school again here this winter. He will reside with his uncle, Peter Susbauer. Mack Graybeal and sister, Mrs. Brownell, of Umatilla, visited in Ir rigon Sunday. Carrie McCoy re turned to Umatilla with them that afternoon. S. H. Boardman was up last week from Castle Rock on business, re turning Sunday morning. While here he, with Peter Susbauer and M. J. Wadsworth, crossed the rlv'er in a row boat to look at a water plant there, in which they are inter ested. John Sprouta suffered the loss of about ten tons of alfalfa hay on Thursday afternoon. Thinking to get rid of a lot of dry grass around his stacks, he started up a fire which soon got beyond his control and his effortB were fruitless to head It off. Help was phoned up from town but reached the place too lute to be of much service and the hay stacks were consumed. C-T.
