Mr. Tucker is a promin ent youna farmer of the Black Horse section, having settled there a year ago from Kansas. He is a nephew of W B. Tucker of Sand Hollow. Mrs. Akers ia the youngest daughter of II. A. Conner of Black Horse. Edgar F, Averill of Pendleton and deputy State Game and Fish Warden was in Heppner the lat of the week. He was just returning from Gilliam county where he has been stocking the streams of that county with 80,000 yiiU.ig rainbow and mountain trout. He also inspected several streams, looking over the various dams where ladders might be needed. Miss Rae Atherton arrived in this city last Thursday eveuina and will spend the summer months with her mother, Mrs. L. G. Atherton. MiBS Atherton is head of tho domestic science department in the high school at Woodland, Wash. Oonty Bros, are this week installing a new Champion shoe repairing machine. This machine is the latest thing in the shoe repairing business. A gasoline engine will furnish the power. Frank McNally departed for Elgin Oregon, Tuesday where he will en gage in business. His family will follow him after a few weeks. John Marshall and Anna Mulligan of Castle Rock were married in Hepp ner Wednesday July 8th by Rev. P. J. O'Rourke.
