The land is all in wheat now and next harvest we will determine how much wheat you destroyed and you may pay me for that if you want to." The fact developed that Sir. Jones keeps one man on the ranch in the winter and he has been batching in the house and as no other way ap peared for the county to get even with Jones for his unheard of con duct, Judge Campbell made it a part of the deal that Jone's man shall board with the county road crew as a star boarder. Mr. Hendrix, however took a dif ferent view of the road question. He absolutely refused to give any right of way but offered to sell the county his ranch for $50 an acre. He finally however, decided that he would let the road go through for $10,000 dam ages but this offer the court flatly refused to consider. After returning to town the court decided to have the county surveyor make some estimates relative to equitable damages and report to the court at an adjourned meeting to morrow. It is understood that the court will then make a tender to Mr. Hendrix and if that is refused the matter will be at once taken into the courts under condemnation pro ceedings .
