Mr. and Mrs. Dell Ward left Wed nesday for their home near Heppner after spending several days at the liome of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Farna--vorth at Rhea Siding. Mr .and Mrs. R. V. Tyler, of Rhea Siding spent Sunday with Mr. and M:3. Everett Logan at Cecil. Noel Streeter entertained a large 1 1 n ji i , melons were scarce by the time the paity was at an end. Cecil school ppend Tuesday. There are eight pupils enrolled. Miss Mil dred Henricksen ,of Strawberry ranch is teacher. Congratulations are extended to Grover Curtis and his bride. Grover was married Sept. 6th in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Miss Dora Kohlhase. The happy couple will be at home to receive their friends after a short honeymoon trip. They intend to re side on their ranch on Willow creek . and their friends assure them a right good reception' when they arrive. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Morgan and family of Morgan were calling in Ce- fcfil an Sunday. R. E. Duncan and daughter, Miss Mildred, of Busy Bee ranch left for Boardman on Monday. Miss Mild red will attend Boardman high school. Dodge car behaved that he treated his Cecil friends with some fine Hood River peaches, or it may have been a sort of peace offering from Morgan to Cecil, or a gentle remin der that Morgan will bury the hatchet concerning the county court etc. Miss Gertie Pettyjohn, of Morgan, was calling on her Cecil friends c Friday. Mrs. W. B. Barratt and daughter dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowe at the Highway House otn Sui day. Miss Helen Barratt who has been visiting Miss A. C .Hynd at Butterby Flats returned home with them Sun day evening , Word has been received in Cecil at time of writing that Mrs. A. Henrick sen, who has gone to Portland for an operation was doing as well as pos sible and the doctors expect to have her home again soon. A. E. Wheeler, of Birkenstead. Etngland, arrived in Cecil Friday and Will visit for gome time with his old friends Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowe. Misa Georgia Summers, of the Last Camp, and also Miss Minnie Lowe and Robert Lowe left on the local on Sunday for Portland where they will each take up their studies once more at their respective schools. The Mayor and his vife have re turned to their home after spending a week or two in Heppner putting thei rresidence in order. Mrs. Hynd will spend the winter in Heppner where Mlt's Violet and Jackie will at tend school. Miss Ester Logan who has been Spending her vacation with friends in Portland arrived in Cecil on Thurs day and will resume her studies a the lone high school.
