The Albany Democrat Is informed that a suit will be brought against the Street Railway Company, on the ground that their new track obstructs the street, and also to prevent the use of the motor inside the city limits. What will materialize will be watched with interest. The state officers held a meeting Tuesday for the purpose of considering the plans and make a preliminary out line of the work to be done in the mat ter of loeatiou and establUnmeut of a jute mill at the state prison. The officers are arranging the details of the work and very soon expect to have the jute mill well under way. . Mrs. Lillian Moorehouse has com menced proceedings against George W. Moorehouse for divorce, on the grounds of desertion and non-support, as she claims that he has never given her one dollar since they were mar ried. The case will come up at Dallas, where Mrs. Moorehouse is living with her sister. If the Express does not come up to the usual standard this week credit the fault to our lietter half, as this has been liouse-cleuuing week down our way, and everything has been in a muddle, and we have to go on cold grub, and part of the time attend to the baby. Our nights have been one con tinual night mure, that is, when we were not pulling on some old carpet or scrubbing some base board; but we will try and be all right next week. E. W. Achinson, of the firm ot K. W. Achinson & Co., of Albany, call ed on us to-day, having set up a mon ument at tiie grave of Retta, beloved daughter of our esteemed townsman Samuel Coad. About 7 o'clock Monday morning a Tuft generator at the Salem soda works exploded, aud John Evans, the operator, had a very narrow escape from being killed. At the time of the explosion the machine was carrying alwut eighty pounds pressure, when, it is sup posed, a flaw gave way, and away went the machine, through the floor, roof and sides of the building, tearing out the roof and a portion of the last wall, besides a big hole in the floor and demolishing all th fixtures of the room. Had the machine been carrying the ubuhI pressure, which is alwut 200 pounds to the square Inch, there would have undoubtedly been a fatal awldeut. Statesman.
