The Scio Tribune : GILKEY STATION .March 3 W. A Gilkey, J. F. Sommer. 8. F Zymat. F. W Me spelt and J. H. Kelly attended the road meeting in Albany Wednesday. The committee appointed st thia meeting to confer with the highway commission re turned with very favorable report for the Santiam-I^banon road. A family by the name of Heine, recently from Idaho, are now living on the Henry Struckmeier place. One girl haa entered the local school. Dial. 10. and a boy haa started to Craotree high school. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wageleet, who formerly lived on the Struck meier place, have moved to the house on the Clyde Reiley place. Mattel and Ethel Zvsset and Merle Bigham attended the teachers insti tute at Jefferson Saturday. Franklin Gilkey of 0 A.C. came home Friday evening. Hie sister, Marion, took him back aa far as Al- bany Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Holt visited at the E. L. Whetstone home in Al- bany Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Holt. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Sommer and S. F. Zvsset took a trip to Suver Sunday to see the famous Harding grass grown by J A. Stambaugh, who introduced the grass a few veaia ago. W. A. Gilkey and R. H. Struckmeier went on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Kelly went to Silverton Saturday to visit Mrs. Kelly's mother. Mrs. Wm. Serfling, returning Sunday. They were ac companied home by little Margaret Higginbotham, who is visiting st the Frank Prokop home. Mrs. Tim Kelly went to Portisnd again Tuesday, taking Junior to a diabetes specialist. While there Mrs. Kelly is taking a cooking course for diabetics, given at the hospital. Harold Reiley spent the week end with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Reiley. Harold is working near Roseburg and while waiting for the train called on Harold Sherfy. his former teacher at Crabtree, who ia now in the insurance business at Roseburg. Baptismal services were held at the Sanderson bridge Sunday, Rev. Applegate conducting the services. Two were baptised. Rev. and Mrs. Applegate were Sunday guests at the J. K. Kelley home. Will Moore and children, Kelly and Eileen, of Salem were visitors at the J G Holt and J. H. Kelly homes Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hoff and Hazel Young of Portland spent the week end at the parental home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Young. Little Crawford Hoff, who has been stay ing with his grandparents, accom panied them home. Lucille Sommer has been out of school several days with tonsilis.
