DEC. 16. 1920 THE DIVORCE EVIL The American home la the haw* upon which our American civiliza tion and government is constructed lies troy our domesticity and out governmental structure will soon crumble. It follows then that what ever destroys the American nome is a blow al American government and there is no one feature of American society which ia destroying our Am erican homes so rapidly as the div orce department« of our courts Take any of our metropolitan new» papers and you wdl I m * astounded, if not alarmed at the long lists in th« divorce column. The divorce, especially when there are children, ia especially sad It proclaims that those children probably have not had the home training they are justly entitled to The h<»m«i where the father spends the major part ef his idle time at resorts of various kinds, is a drunk ard, or is untrue to his marltai companion, or where the wife and mother ia what is commonly under stood as a gadabout, or likes to as sociate wiUi other meg too well, are the iieople whose names ap|>ear in divorce ’record«.
