Rourke Cockran, the noted Irish orator and professed foe of the league of na tions a year ago. on the stump for Cox. has caused much comment in Washington. When the hearing was in progrere before the committee on foreign re lations in 1919, it was Cockran who presented the case against the cov enant The amazement that was provoked by Cockran's announcement to sup port Cox has given way to extreme bitterness caused by Cockran's right about face tactics. Just what method of procedure will be decided upon to expose Mr. Cockran's inconsistency has not been determined, but one of the country’s ablest orators may follow Cockran and use his own arguments against him.
