The fact that Scio is ab'< to hold a successful fair .-p-aks we I for thv citizens of tins < im munity. Perha >.t no other coun ty fair in the state attru ts more attention, or is better patroni? d than the fair at Scio. T is pa tronage is not confined exclusive ly to the people of this commun ity nor to the |>eople of L nn county alone, but reaches dilfer- ent parts of the state, and even beyond. The contention that transportation facilities are an insurmountable handicap to our success, is nn error in judgement as the past five years experience in maintaining a successful fair has demonstrated. Gcogntph - cally speaking, Scio is admirably located, and while suffering a serious handicap for lack of rail road facilities, the automob/e promises to relieve, as it has to a certain extent already, thisem- teirassing feature. The good roads movement in this section is co-operating to increase the avai amlity of tl.e automobile as a transportation factor. But, even though for the sake of ar gument we eliminate the auto mobile, we might contend as logi cally for an annual fair from a transportation Btand|x»int, as many other places that maintain county fairs. As a matter of fact we are only two miles from the railroad, a distance which, with good roads, can easily I c made by team in less than fit- teen minutes. Another conten tion, that Scio cannot accomo- .o’ aiwii-s obtainable. Other places where like conditions ea st co iia be named.
