The article follows I JOHN DAY RIVER HIGWAY By Lois Dixon) If the John Day River High way should run through Spray, it would be a great improvement to the John Day valley in general. It would furnish easy transpor tation for the settlers all along the route. It would make it pos sible to- haul the products of the valley to the rail road. It would also increase the value of all lands laying along the proposed High way. It would also furnish a way to bring goods for the mer chants in the several settlements along the way. Much hauling wolud becarried on by automobile trucks; they could make the trip in much less time. This would reduce the cost of many articles to the settlers- If taken from a scenic" stand point, it would compare very fa vorabie wkh the Grand Canyon.
