the oceans in the world to feed on, gulls by the

In an interview w ith a business man it is brought out
th a t it is not K lam ath county b ut the K lam ath em pire
now. The two steel ribbons which have been Joined at
Hackam ore m ade it more than a county for a large
territory, em bracing four counties, is banded together
com mercially and geographically.
Modoc and Siskiyou counties in California—a great
tim bered and agricultural are a—and K lam ath and Lake
counties—another g reat tra c t of pine and prosperous
farm s and ranches—are separated only by an invisible
state line.
This section, inhabited by an active and hard-working
population, has everything in common. N aturally the de
velopment of the four counties m ust be sim ultaneous.
W hen one grows it helps the others and th ey will all
grow together.
B etter highways are being constructed yearly until now
practically the entire territo ry can be traversed by auto.
Completion of the new Southern Pacific line binds the
counties even closer together. They form an Empire, an
Empire th a t will be recognized as such throughout the
W estern and M iddlewestern parts of the United States.
United effort will bring g reat benefits to the K lam ath
Em pire and all towns and each p art of each county will
prosper. W atch the K lam ath Em pire grow!
