Rev. Earl Childers, new pastor at
the Christian church, began a series
of sermons on the bok of Genesis at
the services Bunday night. The ser­
mon was taken from the first chapter
of the book, and next Sunday's even­
ing talk will he from the third chapter.
Mr Childers was the minister at the
local church but for two years has

the Eugene Bible University. He will
retain his position there, and will
continue to live In Eugene.

F A. Lelnhardt. mill foreman at the
Booth-Kelly mill, barely escaped
drowning Friday morning when he
slipped from som e log* Into the Icy
mill pond. Mr. Lelnhardt Is unable
to swim, and no one saw him fall.
His cries brought no response for
about ten minutes, because they
echoed against the Butte behind the
mill and soundd from a different di­
rection.
Torvnl Nystrom. yard foreman
finall heard Lelnhardt'* cries and
helped him out. He was kept afloat
until help came by holding a broken
piece of log under one arm. Desplt*
the chilly exposure. Mr Lelnhardt re­
turned to work at the mill Friday
afternoon.
