DIMM Duties of the Governor of Oregon Hon. James Wlthycombe is serving the people of the state of Oregon as governor. He succeeded Hon. Oswald West on January 1, 1915. The gover nor serves for four years and receives a salary of $5000 per year with $500 additional as traveling expenses. A candidate for the governorship must be a native born American who has lived In this state at least three years and who is at least 30 years old. The governor is the chief executive officer of the state, whose duty it is to see that the laws of the stato are properly enforced. It is mainly a composite of the well-known wisdom of Republican Bages and the converted Progressive chiefs. The voices of Mr. Roosevelt, of Senator Fall, of Senator Harding and the Home Market Club may be detected in it. Senator Fall, indeed, seems to be the main prompter.
