LANE COUNTY, OREGON
Bountiful Fields, a Fertile Soit
And a Salubrious Climate combine to Make

Lane County.
Lane comity extends from the summit
of tho Cascades to the Paeitk Ocean. In
i,e it is about the times as large as
Khodt! Island or Connecticut. It fronts
the Pacific a distance of thirty miles,
wiili a splendid harbor at the city of

The population of Lane county is

Lane county is fast Incoming one of
the great cattle producing counties in
the State. The mild wintcrs.the fact thnt
native grasses reuiaiu green during tho
year, and the ease with which cultivated
grasses can bo raised make it an excel
lent country for evcrv kind of Block.
The general practice of Line county
farmer is to provide fodder for only a
small part of the year, during the bal
ance of which the stock roam At large.
Running water is Abundant, and stock
does not lack water in the driest Reason.
The largest ow ners of horned stock are
improving greatly by infusing line blood
into their herds. There ate numerous
breeders of Shorthorns, Oulioways,
Tolled Angus, Ayrshires, Hereford,
llobtcins, IVvons, Alderneys and Jer
seys in the Willamette. alley. The
