Woolens and blankets are not soaked, but It ’s a good Idea to use stain rem oval methods for spots which need them. Any rubbing, wringing, twisting or squeezing motions should be avoided as these will lock wool fibers and cause shrir kage and hard texture. A ll methods that take trout leave most of the worm free of the hook so that the b ait has plenty of w riggle. One of the most effective methods is tc hook the worm by passing the point and barb just beneath the skin of the unsegmented band (cli- tellu m ), which is located about a th ird of the length of the w orm from the head end. This band is somewhat g rea ter in d ia m e te r than the rem ain d er of the w orm , which makes hooking in this m anner quite easy and the w orm rem ains liv ely longer than when hooked deeply.
