Southern Oregon News Review, Ashland. Ore., I huts,, .Inly H, 19 is o n the proposed bond election for school district N o. 5, T hursday, July 5 We feel that the children of Ashland and the surrounding communities deserve and need ade- * quate school facilities. The proposed bond election will provide for a ne w school, at a cost of '305,090, to replace the old, worn out Washington School—a new school on Walker Avenue, at a cost of $118,003, to help take care of the increased school population—and an addition to Lincoln school at a cost of SI 15,- 000. An additional $12,000 will be used for equipment. Total cost for an adequate school system for this community is then 5553,090, to be paid cff, at 3 per cent interest, in eleven years. The total levy will be 11 mills, four more than local citizens a e presently paying. We think it’s a smart investment. We’re voting “ YES.” Mrs. Elmo Stevenson Lloyd Selby John Cotton H. R.
