Two Local Quints In
New-Formed League
A
Two Ashland basketball teams,
the Little Sons and the Christian
church, have entered into the new­
ly-formed Southern Oregon Inde­
pendent Basketball league, which
is to be affiliated with the AAU,
at a meeting in the offices of the
Jackson County Chamber of Com­
merce Monday night.
Stephen Epler of Ashland, Bill
Schrader of Prospect and Tommy
Helman of Medford were appoint­
ed to a board of governors to or­
ganize a schedule which is ex­
pected to get under way the first
of next week.
Tommy White of Medford was
elected as the league's general
overseer. The organization will be
made up of eight teams which will
play a 14-game schedule.
Seven teams definitely were
chosen for membership and an
eighth will be selected between
Butte Falls and Central Point.
The clubs already chosen are, be-
sides the two Ashland teams,
Prospect, Gold Bars, All-Star»,
Coaches and
Jacksonville
Moonshiners.
