On Hi Field Tonight
Post-season softball will make
a bow to Ashland fans when, at
8 o’clock tonight, the l*ine Box.

no admission charge and all Ash­
land is welcome to see his boys
tangle with the Lumbermen. Gar­
ry Newton, Boxer manager, ex­
pects a full roster of players to be
on hand and plans to start Charlie
Warren, recently voted the most
valuable player in the league, on
the mound. Don Gettling will do
the receiving with Tiny Jones on
first. Jack Bentley at second, Ken­
ny Harris on third and in readi­
ness for the pitching role, Charley
Jandreau in the short patch with
Ardie Warren, Ed King and Jack
Weaver in the outfield.

NO CARD MONDAY
Because Monday, Sept. 2, is
Labor day, there will be no wrest­
ling card at Medford armor}' on
that date but Promoter Mack Lil-
ard announced that he will ar­
range an all-star program for the
following Monday, Sept. 9.

schedule this season, according to
Coach Loren Tuttle who released
the information this week.

season's play will begin with a
journey to McCloud on Sept. 14
where the Cavemen will play
Dunsmuir and
will conclude
against Ashland here Nov. 28.

The Medford Tigers, under head
coach Bill Bowerman, will leave
this week-end for a week's train­
ing at Lake o' the Woods. They
open on Sept. 23 with a seven­
game schedule with the first five
of their contests on home soil.
Coach Leighton Blake of the
Ashland high Grizzlies has not yet
completed a schedule.
