NEW SHELL STATION IS
LOCALLY BUILT PROJECT
The new service station being
built at the comer of Siskiyou
boulevard and East Main streets
for the Shell Oil company by J. D.
Mars, owner, is an entirely Joca!
project, it was explained this week
by Mars, who said that although
the Teller Construction company
of Portland is supervising the job,
but one employe, Bert Palmer, is
here to represent the northern
company.
All materials and labor on the
station are being procured in Ash­
land, including plumbing, wiring,
glass, sash, lumber, cement, sand
and gravel. Structural steel .not
available here, is the one product
purchased fro mout of town.

Lawrence J. McConachy, 21, lo­
cal college student, Saturday night
was jailed by city police following
a disturbance in a local cafe
Fined $10 and $2.50 costs by City
Judge C. O, Presnall Monday, Mc­

when he was unable to pay. He
was released late Tuesday.
