They plan to meet Tuesday. Jan 25, to elect new officers for the coming year. Present officers are Ray Garland. president; Lou Max- on. treasurer, and Edith Cochran, secretary • A basketball team known as the Town team, was organized this week with Mrs Norval Stock still acting as coach. A large num ber of girls and women are prac ticing for the basketball organi zation. • Mr. and Mrs. Art Adams of Ashland were guests of Mr and Mrs. Will Maxwell Monday. • Joe Fenton had the misfortune while cutting wood Wednesday of breaking his arm when a large limb fell across it. • About 35 friends and neigh bors gathered at the home of Mrs. Ralph Hilkey Saturday af ternoon to honor Mrs. Allen Clark. ! a recent bride, with a miscellan eous shower. Many beautiful and useful gifts were presented the honoree. The afternoon was spent in opening gifts and visiting, after which Mrs. Hilkey, assisted by Mrs. LeRoy Olsen. J. Bailey entertained the directors and officers of the Ladies club at her home Friday afternoon. Following the business meeting the remainder of the af ternoon was spent playing bridge. Klamath Falls Quint Rushes Ashland 35-11 Rushed off their feet by a group of towering Pelican casaba tea sers. the Ashland Grizzlies lost their first Southern Oregon con ference basketball set-to at Klam ath Falls last Friday evening by the lop-sided score of 35-11. The locals were unable to cope with the big Klamath lads, most of whom stood inches taller than CLEAN Everett Nance, heighty Ashland pivot man. Klamath led, 9-6, at the first quarter and added con sistently throughout the contest. Many reserves saw action for each team. Buzz Roberson and Charlie Warren tied for high Ashland points with four each and Jack Weaver netted the only other lo cal counters.
