County extension agents have experienced a year of greater ac tivity than ever before measured both by statistics on requests for services and results of work ac complished, according to the an nual report recently submitted by F. L. Ballard, vice director in charge of the federal cooperative extension service at Oregon State college. Recorded calls at the offices of county agricultural agents alone by persons desiring information or assistance of some kind reached a total of ivo.uul for the year, an increase of more than 67,000 in the past two years, the reports show. This represents an average of 4,812 calls per county. Meet ings held by the county agents to tal 4,222 or an average of 124 per county, many of these being de monstration meetings where meth- were ods and farm processes shown. In addition to the meet- ings and calls at the oxi ices, coun- ty agents averaged 762 visits to farms and wrote an average of 3,213 letters for the year.
