LETTERS 4 to the Editor —* I we ARE concerned with how i much GOODS our dollar will buy. | The law requires that one dollar ’ in gold be kept in reserve for each | thirty dollars in money in use. Prices are largely controlled by the amount of money available. The international bankers want our money valued in gold for a very definite reason. They BUY gold, ship it to Europe, and then what happens ? For each dollar in gold shipped out of the country, thirty dollars of our medium of exchange is forced out of circulat ion. and of course is reatorable to circulation when the gold ia re- turned. To The Editor: President Roosevelt said in his recent broadcast talk that the newspapers were full of panaceas for our economic ills and he quoted the most common one: "Restore gold to circulation and permanent ly set the value of our dollar in gold by act of Congress."
