Carl, Applegate’s own candidute for republican nomina tion for representative to the state legislature from the 19th district, is busy campaigning und preparing for the big political event only a few weeks in the offing. He also is attending many of the Hulet-for- congress meetings being held throughout the county. "Farmer Bill from the Applegate will guard your legislative needs,” is his slogan adopted when he filed for the candidacy in March. Mr. Carl has not just chosen the title of "farmer,” but is actually a tiller of the soil, and resides about two and one-half miles below the Ap plegate store. Among those who have file«! for precinct committeemen are Charles Hamilton of Ruch and C. W. Culey of Applegate.
