The film, ‘Human Growth" was accompanied by a talk on social hygiene, and the means of presentation to the students by Mr. Curtis Avery, representative of the E. C. Brown Trust. will write letters and have them endorsed by the members. There is a national movement under way by the P.T.A. to ban the programs from the air. A social evening and refresh ments followed the business meet ing. The next meeting honoring Founders Day will be held on February 11th. Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Averitt are in Mannford, Oklahoma, visiting relatives and friends. While there they attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Mrs. Averitt’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Clegg of that city. Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Elmer F. and a daughter, Karen, who attends St. Mary's Academy in Beaverton. The Petersons moved to their home on Scholls Ferry Road at Whitford about a, year and a half ago, coming here from Portland. Grace Saunders Services for Mrs. Grace Mae Saunders were held Wednesday, January 19th at 9 a.m. at St. Ce cilia Catholic Church in Beaver ton with interment in Mt. Cal vary Cemetery. Mrs. Saunders had lived for the past ten years in the community and in the state of Oregon for the past 42 years. Her address was 6502 S. W. Vermont, Port land. Mrs. Saunders was born in Kan sas City, Mo. on March 21, 1875. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. E. J. Rhoades of Walla Walla. Wash. Also a grandson, Edward S. Saunders of Eugene and one great granddaughter, Laurie Saunders. Pegg’s Mortuary, Beaverton, was in charge of services. Ver mont St., Multnomah, passed a- way in his sleep early Sunday, January 16th. He was 71 years of age and had lived in the vic inity of Hillsdale since 1933. Surviving him are a son, Rich ard S. Doty and 2 granddaughters, Carol Ann and Sherrill, of Port land. A sister, Mrs. Clara M. Taylor, lives at Grass Valley, Ore. and his brother, R. C.' Doty, live» at Beaverton. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21st at 1:30 p.m. at the new Pegg Chapel in Bea verton with interment at River- view Cemetery. Mrs. Minnie Herron passed a- way on January 14, 1949 at her home Rt. 2, Box 643, Beaverton Recitation of the rosary was held at the Pegg Chapel in Beaverton on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Monday, Mrs. Herron was taken by train to Helena, Montana for services and interment at Hel ena. Mrs. Herron had lived in Bea verton about 4 years. She was born in Kansas on April 15, 1872. She is survived by two daugh ters and one son: Mrs. Mabel Ev ans of Rt. 2, Beaverton; Mrs. Lalia Marsh of Phoenix, Arizona; Erwin Hamilton of Beaverton. A sister, Mrs. Dora Larkin lives in Helena, Montana. Also there are 2 grandsons and 1 great grandchild.
