Steps Up Calls For Men in 1949 W alter H utton of G ales Creek has been notified to report D ec em ber 28 for induction by W ash ington C ounty S electiv e S ervice Board. H utton will bo the third man inducted during 1948 from W ashington County. The Board has received a call for ten m en to report on January I and thiry men on Jan uary 10 for pre-induction physicals. T hese will he 22 and 23 years of age. j In dications point to a stepping up of the draft program early in 1949 w ith m ore m en to be induct ed into the arm ed forces. Of the 22 men from the cou n ty w ho took physical exam in ations D ecem ber 9, but fiv e qualified for induction.
