The facts show—as reported by the Oregon
Fish Commission, Ju n e, 1948, that all that hap­
pens when you ban fixed gear is that more fish
are caught by gillnets.
So, this bill to eliminate fixed gear is not
conservation of salmon, but absolute control of
the salmon catch. You housewives have had
experience with such monopolies. You know
what happens to your household expenses!
