D uring the business session plans were made to hold a bazaar on the evening o f D ecem ber 3rd, and also a plan to increase attendance at the m eetings by givin g a trophy to the room with the greatest num ber o f adults attending each month. The trophy will not re main in one room but will g o to the w inners each m onth. Each teacher discussed the prob lems and procedures o f their par ticular grades. Saturday is the leading death day with Sunday a close second on the basis o f state-wide acciden t reports. T ogether, these tw o days accounted fo r 77 o f the 159 fatal smash-ups reported in the first six m onths o f 1948, N ew bry said. L eading fa ctors a ccou n tin g fo r this ratio were said to be heavy w eekend travel and m ore a fter dark drivin g at that time. “ T his is som ething m otorists en- route to football gam es must keep in m ind,” N ew bry warned. “ D ark ness, often heightened by rain, doubles the tra ffic hazard after the gam e.” W ith the num ber o f cars on the road now at record levels, he said a w ary eye on tra ffic, road sur face conditions, and the speedo m eter will help to o ffse t the add ed danger.
