Particularly needed immediately are several general physicians, specialists in diseases of the chest, specialists in anesthesiology and psychiatrists. Doctors who receive appoint ments to the VA departments of medicine and surgery receive an annual salarg ranging upward from $4149 with minimum require ments, to $11,000 with full qualif ications. Certified specialists re ceive an additional 25 percent of their base pay. VA physicians are entitled to 30-days leave with pay each year in addition to other benefits established under the VA department of medicine and sur gery.
