Cedar Mill News Camp Fire News PRE-SCHOOL STUDY "ChATACler T r a i n i n g That Counts" by Vernon Jones in the Parent-Teacher magazine was re ported on by Mrs. L. S. Upping- house at the pre-school study club meeting held Monday, evening. February 2. at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Wood ell. The parents' part in building childrens' character was dis<russed by those attending. Mrs. R. R- Baker was in charge of refreshments for the evening. Next month's meeting will be held on March 3 at the home of Mrs. F W. Merewether with Mrs. Robert Davis in charge of refresh ments and Mrs. R. R. Baker to discuss the topic for study. FIRE DESTROYS HOME The second story of the Harold Belcher home on N. Leahy Hoad was destroyed by fire Sunday evening. It Is believed that an electric cord shorted to cause the fire. Water damaged first floor walls and furniture. The Ce dar Mill fire patrol was called to the scene. Plans have been made for ham dinner on Saturday eve ning, February 28 at the Orange hall with adult dinners at each. Bingo will offer entertainment following the meal. SICKNESS HITS SCHOOL School was closed last Tuesday afternoon for the remainder of the week. Absences of approximate ly one-third of the enrollment for various illnesses including flu, chickenpox and mumps prompted closure. Teachers were also in the minority.
