N orth Carolina, he w as sent o verseas to join B battery, w ith later tra n s fer to A battery, o f the 11th field artillery battalion, a unit of the 24th division artillery. The 24th division is now occu pying K yushu, sou th ernm ost and largest of the J ap an ese Islands.
