The program will include the following numbers: ‘ Take My Yoke Upon You,-’ Benton; “ What A Friend,” Martin- “ Prayer Per- fect,” Stenson, "Somebody Knows," Ackley; "Peace Be Still’ Palmer; "Diauein,” Ellor; "Trust ing In My Saviour;" “ My Dream Home in Glory”, Washburn: "Just Coudn’t Be Contented,” a Spiritual; “ Ezelkiel Saw de Wheel,” Nobel Cain; "Climbing Up the Mountain,” Smith; “No Hiding Place,” s Spiritual; "Like A Shepherd Lead Us,” Lorenz; "Just For Today,” Baldwin. There will be duet quartette, choir and congregational num bers, Rev. Ennis Whaley, able leader and pastor of the colored congregation at Hughes Memor ial Methodist in Portland will conduct the congregational sing ing as well as his own choir. Rev. Bowers, the local pastor, states that a warm welcome awaits the entire public to the first joint program of this type known to have been given in Beaverton. Mrs. Carrie Summers enter tained the Cheerio Club at her home last Friday. Her guests were Pearl Newman. Harriette Girard, Margarett Scott and Myr tle Nelson. Donald Selden and Barry Hoaglin led the opening prayers, and Beverly Sappington led in the Psalter reading. The youth choir, directed by Mrs. Maxine Cady Barnes, sang for the first time since its vaca tion, presenting ‘ Praise \e The Father." The Sacrament Baptism was observed with David Vin cent Olson, son of Mr and Mrs. Vincent Olson being baptized. Each department of the church school presented a brief sample of its work, and gave certificates to those being graduated into the next department. Mrs. Ernest H Masters, superintendent of the Primary Department, led the lit tle children In singing Mrs. Wal ter Rosebraugh’s kindergarten de partment displayed pictures of Jesus with suitable scripture verses and the graduates of It were presented with Bibles as they entered Mr. Joe Bates Pri mary department. The junior de partment under Mrs. Norton Peck and the Intermediate under Miss Bernice Conolv each pre sented scripture memory work. The Teen Time picnic sched uled for last Sunday, will he held this Sunday, if the weath er permits. The >oung people will leave the church at 2:00 and spent! the afternoon at Lake Os wego. All high school people of the church are Beginning July 0. the summer program will begin at Bethel Church, running through La bor Sunday. The Church school will open at 10:30 and the sum mer feature will be the new all- aboard for adventure recordings. The Church School will then meet with the church for a com bined morning worship service at 11 to be over at 11:45. She is quite ill with heart trouble. At last reports she was improving. Mrs. Frank Fray, sister of Mr. Jack Anderson arrived Friday af ternoon from Spokane, Wash, for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. O.
