This arrangement will permit arrival in Portland at 10 min utes past t.he hour and ’JO minutes before the hour, and will gtve city workers opportunity to be at work on the hour or half hour even though employment may be some distance from the Portland depot. Under the present system we have .experienced much difficulty In keeping schedules on time, due to the fact that the Portland depot Is congested with arrival and departure of many other buses on the hour, calming our buses to be late getting out and thus delaying them all along the line. The new arrangement will also allow more time on the road for heavy pick-up business or delays by weather or other conditions, and still get workers to town on time. We would like to recommend to you also t«he regular use of tickets whenever possible, instead of paying the driver cash. Cutting numeioua cash fare receipts consumes much of the driver's running time and causes delays which could be eliminated through your co operation In this respect. We want to keep on time and gtve you the best possible service. It can be done If we all pull together to eliminate the rauses of delay.
