be a little opportunity of dodging
in case of meeting a runaway
team, an auto, or loose stock,
etc. On last Saturday Mr. Will
Baucrs tam got frightened while
going down the hill and became
unmanageable and another team
coming across the bridge turned
crosswise and entirely blocked
the roadway and caused a very
dangerous smashup. Mr. Fot
roltz's boy suffered a broken
bone below the knee and also a
revere bruise to the knee. Mr.
Baker received only slight injur
ies, but one of the horses faired
badly.' This team was always
quiet and this is its first runaway.

Now is the time
to visit
California
When summer has passed
in these northern states,
the sun is only mild under
the bright blue skies of
Southern California. This
is one of nature's happy
provisions-eternal sum
mer for those who cannot
endure a more severe cli
mate. California has been called
the "Mecca of the winter
tourist." Its hotels and
stopping places are as
varied as those of all well
regulated cities. Visitors
can always find suitable
accommodations, congen
ial companions, and var
ied, pleasing recreations.
