Mrs. Joe Schuerer and Mrs. Pearl Mosier were over from Butteville Tuesday. Joe Miller and family and Mrs. Lane Gribble drove to Canby Friday. Mrs. Antonia Kraus returned Sunday evening from a weeks visit with Portland friends It looked for awhile like Grove McGonagal's house would come to a standstill when Herb John ston, who was to build it, look a header last week while building a silo, breaking an arm, jaw and almost everything else there w a3 to break. Mrs. Scheurer was greatly beloved by all who knew her, aud her death has made desolate the happy home of a sorrowing husband. . Grover Giesy hayloft Olds, Wortman & King, bf Portland, and is visiting his home people for a few days, before he returns to take a position more; to his liking. Jack hate3 to give up, but he carries twelve pounds less than before. S. A. Miller carried away 1st prize on one of his horses and Henry Rett's colt also won a prize. Mrs. Gen. Yergen drove her fine team of blacks to Aurora Tuesday. Miss Ella Bracket and Mrs. John Whitlock were Canby visi tors Friday. Mrs. John Snyder ha3 returned to Salem. Schurer ofButteville, Ore., was held Monday in the Congre gational church at that place and interment was -in the Butteville cemetery at 3:3 jm., conducted by a Congregated minister of Woodburn, and v;as one of the largest funerals ever held at that place. Miss Mary CLoorne was born in England. Auff.. 5. fiftv years ago and died here, Oct., 4, where she has resided for the pa"5t ten years.
