Sam Miller will exhibit hi fine horses'atthe County fair at Can by, and enter them in the prize contest. G rover McGonegal has pur chased a half acre of H. L. Bents in the Snyder addition r.nd will build and move his family to town. Mr. McGonegal and fam ily will be a good addition to town and will be cordially wel comed. Mr3. Josephine Krieger died with tuburculoses at her home south of town early Tuesday morning. Mrs. Krieger haa been a sufferer for a number of years and although ahe changed cli mates last year the disease had made too great an inroad upon her constitution and she could bnly patiently await the end sur rounded by her children. She leaves four fatherless and moth less' boys, Freddie , Alu in, Law rence and Raymond, and three sisters, Mrs. John Scholl of Hub bard, Mrs. Isaac Miller of Aurora and Mrs. Zimmerman of Chicago, to mourn her loss. The Funeral Services were con dcted at the home Wednesday afternoon at. one o'clock by the Rev. Flathman. The remains were laid to rest in the Aurora cemetery by a large number of friends and n&igrib ors who'wiil genuinely mis3 her. Henry Miller wa3 a passenger pn the north bound train Mon day evening. , The warehouse occupied by A. piesy is being treated with a new roof. . j H. L. Mrs. Eugene Moshberger and children of Woodbum, who have been guest3 of Dr. and Mrs. M. Giesy while Mr! oshbergerhas been East, returned to their home Saturday evening. Mrs. Henry Kraus was the gjest of friends in Oregon City one day last week. Sunday F. L. Miller took Cole man Marks and family to Port land to visit Mr Mark's sister. A. Klinger of Hubbard was in town Tuesday. Glen Hurst went to Hubbard Sunday evening. Mrs, E. G. Carpenter visited Salem relatives and attended the State Fair last Wednesday and Thurlay. Miss Grace Thompson of Needy tck the train horc for Portland Tuesday. Mr. and Mk. Otto Blosserleft Sunday for the home- of Mr. Blosser's parents near Hubbard, and will leave for the coast Mon day to be gone a couple of weeks. Carl Rohte returned to Port land Monday after a visit at the Muecke farm. Alvin Thompson took in the State Fair Thursday. Miss lone Giesy is visiting Portland friends. Mr. and Mrs. L. I. Snyder were Fair visitors last Wednesday. F. G. Peters left Friday even ing for Eastern Oregon for a six weeks visit. George Yergen and family re turned from Salem Saturday where they had camped during the fair. Mrs. John Giesy of Portland is visiting her daughter, Mrs. George Kraus, Miss Tillie Fry spent Monday in Portland. Miss Grace Smith has gone to Salem to attend school this winter. S. 0. The first wedding ( ever, per formed in the Presbyterian Church, was solemnized here Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 15th, at 2:301 The church was deco rated most beautifully in the au tumn colors. Over the front of of the; church, there was a" .beau tiful arch of flowers, ferns and and firs. The happy couple were Dr. Archibald A. Atkinson of Dorris, Calif., and Miss Clara I. Irvin, of Aurora, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Irvin. The bride and groom will locate at the home or Dr. Atkinson, very soon.. The ceremony was, performed by the Rev. Frank If. Zugg of Albany, Oregon. Both Dr. and Mrs. Atkinson are graduates of the Pacific Uni versity at Forest Grove, where they .became acquainted while students.
