MRS FORTMII.LER CIVES BIRTHDAY DINNER Mr. Edwin Fortmillrr entertained with a pretty seven o'clock dinner Friday evening, in compliment to her husband on his birthday. The color scheme about the rooms was yellow and white; the pretty spring flowers appearing every place. The large table around which Mra. Fortmiller seated her guests, was centered a her guests, was centered a group of yellow randies with violets and daf fodils prettily arranged about them. The laat course was a beau tiful birthday tukv ornamented with many small candles and accompanied by the duinty Demi Tassea. The re mainder of thr evening was enjoyed with cards. About fourteen were present. - MRS STEWART HONORED ON BIRTHDAY Mrs. Robert Lanalng Stewart was given a surprise luncheon at the Elite on Wednesday evening, the hosts being the Freshmen Faenrh close of Albany college. The occaaslon waa Mrs. Stewart a birthday. ' HAZELWOOD CLUB MEETS Mra. A. N. Ilrisler was ho-tesa to ihe lluitlwood Club at her home Thursday afternoon. , Tha lleister home waa very pretty in Oregon grape and daffodila. C. T. U.'S Meet WITH MRS. HAMMER Tho W. C. T. U.'s held a special meeting Tuesday afternoon at the home of the president, Mra. A. M. Hammer. The meeting wis called to discuss ways and meana of collect ing money for the national Jubilee Fund. A -octal four followed the businria meeting. Light refreshments were served by the hostess. - MISSION SOCIETY MEETS WITH MISS BURKHART The young ladies mission society of the Christian church met with Mias Ella Burkhart, Thursday afternoon. Miss Florence Eastburn was leader. The afternoon's subject was "A mis sion school in Kentucky". Two very interesting papers on mission work were read by Miss Hallie Meyers and Mis Roberts Veal. The remainder of the afternoon was spent with mus ic and a general social time followed by refreshments. - LEAVES FOR TRIP IN EAST Miss Alma Wa.lill. w.ky left this morning for an rxU-nded visit lo her old home in Detroit, Michigan. Pre vious to her departure ahc was very much feted by her many Albany friends. Her sister Mrs. Beyvrlin gave many enjoyable affairs in her honor. - MR AND MRS. SCOTT ENTERTAIN AT DINNER Mr. and Mra. W. R. Scott had as their dinner gue-ta at the St. Francis hotel Tuesday evening, Mr. and Mrs.. Alfred Schmitt and sons, Lawrence and Roland. Red carnations formed the center piece for the table around which the guests were sealed. , MRS. HOPKINS HAS HOUSE GUESTS Mr. Geo. J. Pierre and daughter Misa Dorothy of Salem, apent thr weekend with Mra. Thomaa Hopkina. Mrs. Pierce's sister. They returned home Monday accompanied by Mrs. Small, mother of Mrs. Pierce and Mr-.
