Qsiinn, of Stay ton, were Albany business visitors today. They report that the lid' was placed on the flu situation in Stayton last Saturday and no public gather ings of any kind permitted. FOREIGNERS BECOME CITIZENS OF MEXICO FOREIGNERS BECOME flBd-,lh JUARE.Mex (Eight Japanese, two Chinese, one American and one Turk have farmally expressed their desire to become citisens of Mexico by means of applications filed at the city hall here, according to a sum r.iary of the municipal activities of Juarvs during ll19. The applica tions were forwarded to Mexico City for avtonion. During the same period, 32,579 per sons, chiefly Mexican, passed through this port into the United Snites, the report sets forth. In this connection praise is given by the compiler of the document. Mayor J. Trinidad Romero to the American consulato here for its "considerate attitude toward the (Mexican) authorities and public in general. On an average, about 10 persons were arrested in Juarvx daily during 1919, Mayor Romero's figures show ing a total of 3&t!5 for the year. Con siderable space is given in the report to the improvement of the police force, one of the innovations' being the introduction, now under contem plation, of telephones directly con nected with the police station., A police patrol automobile truck was added druing the year. The city's fire deportments is still a thing of future. Mr. Comer is fighiing for possession of t heir, bly daughter born last July. Mrs. Comer, says the husluml, left the home in Portland on Drrember 13 and nothing more was heard from her until papers in the suit were ser ved on him last wo. k.
