SECOND ANNUAL MOTOR SHOW TO OPEN AT THE ARMORY THURSDAY AFTERNOON; STAGE IS ALL SET The stage is all set for the opening of the second annual automobile show in Albany which takes place tomorrow at the armory at lp.m. At a final meeting of the Albany Automobile Dealers association which took place last evening at the Albany hotel space for the various exhibitors was arranged for and allotted. There will be 32 different mnkes of cars shown in the armory during the show. In the tents covering Fourth street between Ellsworth and Lyon 30 kinds of trucks and tractors will be on exhibition. Varied and unusual types of pleas ure cars have been secured by a num ber of the dealers for the show. The last word in automobile construction will be displayed to the public in what ia expected to be one of the most elaborate and successful motor exhib its ever staged in the Willamette val ley. Feb. 11 By Aaaoci ated Press A wireless from the soviet government at Moscow re ceived here today say that the volunteer transport Karantin loaded with officers, officials wives and children to the number of MOO has been sunk with all on hoard in the Black sea. The dispatch says that when the vessel left Mariupol in the Russian province of Yakaterinoslav it was un able to to accomodate a large number of the volunteer army and that they became incensed at being left behind and opened fire on the ship with light artillery. One of the sheels pierced the boiler of the ship and the resultant exploaion caused the vessel to sink within 'a few moments. It is not believed that any of tne passenger or crew were sav - el. The ship waa proceeding from Mari Ufiol to escape from the Bolaheviki whoae apturoach had been announced. It thought that the action of the vol unteer army in firing on the vessel waa taken in the hope that the craft might atop and take aboard their Osimber and thus save them also from th wrath of the dreaded "Reds." Smith went to Lacomb this morning, where he is to take part in a big community meeting under the auspices of the Linn County Farm Bureau at that place.
