TORTING CASES; HEALTH OFFICERS CHARG
ED WITH KEEPING IT UNDER CONTROL.

persons who have suspicious symp
toms to the Health Officer having
jurisdiction, and ohnll refuse to per
mit such persons to remain at their

"All piTsons. whether physicians,
practitionrrs, healers owners or Keep
ers of rooming houses, hotels, res
taurants, boarding houses, dairy
farms, up rintendenis or managrr
of private or public hospiiuls or san
ituiia. Visiting nurses, brads of
schools, teachers in common and Sin
day schools, and heids of households
are required to placard premises and
immediately quarantine all cases of
so-called .Spanish Influenza, and re
port to thr health officer all circum
stances which would reasonably oiuse
one to suppose that a case of Kpanish
Infljenza might be developing, care
fully informing the Health Officer
having Jurisdiction over the habita
tion jot plnce of emplovme-i. or resi
dence of the person infected. Quar
antine, in every case, to be strictly
maintained until raised by the Ilmlih
Officer.
Health Officers are required to fur
nish placards and detail instructions
tu all other persons within their Jur
isdiction when qjarantine it estab
lished by such other persons.
There is no known preventive in
ouclution aguinst the so-called Span
ish Influenza. The adequnte enforce
ment of these regulations will he the
best known method of preventing the
spread of the rpidemic, and the Health
Officers within their respective Juris
dictions are charged with the strict cn
i forcement of these measures.

: places whrre public gatherings arc
held, it does earnestly request thr co
' operation of the general public in the
'matter uf voluntarily avoiding unnec
essary exposures.

Thomas the Doubter. Evans spoke
of persons who had been disappoint
e in life. Persons who had become
sour on everything, and remarked he
believed the unhappies man on
earth mist be the man who had lost
faith in his fellowmen. No one is
hurt but thai man. "The world moves
on and he is forgotten but he crawls
in hia (hell like an oyster to be bit
ter the rest of his life. Everything
is wrong in his mind but really it Is
in his mind.
Thomas had a dozen different
kinds of evidence 'said thr speaker
that Jesus had appeared to hia lis
ciplcs and yet simple because Thom
as was not there when Jesus came he
was small nough to throw away every
bit of evidence he had.
Mr. Evans was not a preacher last
night b-Jt a lawyer standing before a
Jury trying to convit a man of un
belief. ' If the large crowd could
have acted as the deciding factor it
is likely Evans would have received
the verdice. The meetings continue
this week. Evans speaks tonight and
every night Wednesday night he
delivered lecture on the subject
"Dancing. Card and the Theatre."
