The ease waa taken to the Supreme Court in the form of a mandamus to compel Governor Olcott as Secretary of State to include the office of gover nor in the list of offices to be certified to by the county clerks of the state to be filled by election this year, . This decision means that Governor Olcott will hold office for two years more before having to go before the people for election. I The committee suggested would be composed of seven members appont ed by the" governor, three of whom should represent the sportsmen's in terests and three to represent the com mercial interests of the state and one on the committee as chairman to be neutral. The committee would be se lected equally1 f rttti ' three congres sional districts of the state. An order has been recently received from the state game commission granting the request to close Parmelia lake for fishing for a period of two years, beginning May 15. False Alarms Peeve Firemen and Chief Price False fir alarms are becoming tire some to Chief Clark Price and mem bers of the fire department who are forced to leave their beds in the chilly night and make their way to some point on a Wild-cat chase. Last even ing about 7:30 o'clock an alarm was turned in without cause. - Chief Price believes last evenings alarm to have baen the work of a small boy attracted by the accounts of Sat urday night's runs; but the previous alarms were the work of larger boys bent on meanness, he thinks.
