One of the new buildings to be erected early this year will be a shop ' and sales room, a one-story structure to be built next to the new Murphy Garage on Second Street for the Wil lard Service Station. J. II. Bikman has plans drawn for the erection of a modern stone building on his lot on West First Street It is rumored thut plans are under way for another two story building for First Street, which will house one of the city's prosper ous stores. No announcements or plans have been given out however. There are many other plans for new business buildings under way and the coming year will no doubt surpass j 1919 from this'standpoint The housing situation in Albany has been acute, with hardly enough homes to go around. Several new homes were built last year, but there is a de mand for at least 25 or 50 new dwell ings. A.tong the best homes built or started last year were the Riley Hul bert bungalow on West Ninth St., the Joe Gilbert home in Sunrise, the H D. Preston bungalow at Seventh and Broadalbin and the G. T. Hockcnsmith residence on West Ninth, the fine home for Waldo Anderson at Ninth and Ferry, the Jeff Isom residence in Sunrise and other scattering dwell ings throughout the city. One of the crying needs of the city is an apartment house, and it is rum-1 ored that plans are under way for the erection of a building of this type dur ing the coming summer.
