LOCAL SAW MILL IS PROSPEROUS Albany Lumber Company has Best Year Yet; Looks for Increase With large body of Handing tim ber Linn C-OJiity is one of the prin cipal lumbering count ie of the lUte. And assisting in marketing this vast resource of nature is the Albany Lum ber Company, an institution composed with one exception, of AAtbany. The Albany Lumber Company's mill is located on the southeastern edge of the city on the C. 4 E. branch of the S. P. railway. The plant consists of the mill proper with planing and dressing machinery, equipped to Mrn out any kind of lumber and building material. The mill was first started about 25 years ago and has changed ownership several timet.. Three years ago a new organiza tion took hold of it, re-organised things and put it upon a sound foot ing The men back of this enterprise are J. J. Barrett, president; Henry Lyons and A. J. Johnson, directors and Alex Ross, manager. Much of the rjecess of the mill U due to the efficient managerial ability of Mr. Boas, who understands the lumber local people. Both Mr. Barrett and Mr. Ross predict a heavy biuldlng year In this part of the valley and are getting ready to take advantage of the large volume of trade that is due them.
