J 4 vi MISFITS By F. P. Nutting Thanksgiving day in Portland, tho a very wet one, was t'ull ot sunsnin for quite of a number of Albany peo ple were here, and 1 have found from experience that they arc about the most genial in the world. The Misfit family had their tur key dinner, with numerous "a la's" in it, at the Hotel Seward, where Albany people seem to like to con grcy?le. ' On this occasion four or five ta bles were occupied by them, enjoy ing the fine menu. Charley Fortmiller, with Frank Will acting as chaperone, was at one of them, following up the feast with a trip to Multnomah Field. Mr. and Mrs. Hi Torbet, two oi Albany's fine young people, were at another. Xo one would have taken them for a bride and groom, so well did they play their part At another w-erc Will Barrett and Bob. The way Bob is growing lead me to think that this was not the first turkey he has tackled. A few more Thanksgivings and he'll be a six-footer. Catherine was also in the city with her aunt Anna. Miss Marion Anderson was eating ' with some Portland friends. Hubbell Young, of the O. A. C, was a guest of honor at one of the tables. Jack Penland was out in the lobby an old star football player himself, once on a time going early to the field to be on hand for the game. Dr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson, of Salem, and Mrs. W. Lair Thompson, were in the lobby. Dr. Thompson has built up a large practice. He has the honor to be a member ot tiie state accident commission. W. Lair Thompson is in Eastern Oregon on a legal trip. Shortly afterwards, met Mr. and Mrs. Griff King, who reside out on the Mi Scott line, where Mr. King has a real estate office, and repoit ed a good business. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. French spent the day with their daughter, Mrs. R. W. Williams and family, ami while not seeing them personally, yet we felt the vibrations of their friendly voices thru the phone. For one day Mr. Hoover was for gotten in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Curry reside at Broadway and Montgomery. Mrs Curry's sister, Miss Adra Perfect, spent Thanksgiving day with her.
