Al least, the Bible seems to have be come the most popular book of the war. It is said that the prsiari of the American Bible Society hart been running 16 hours a day since -May 1. and tftal with 400,000 copie printed in the meant ine, orders arc still far in excess oi the supply. The V M C. A. recently mated 500.000 pocket Testaments :'or sol diers It was unable to procure than It now has an order lor 1. 000.000 Bi bles waiting its turn to be filled. Of course, everybody's giving Bi bles to soldiers With the attempt to supply every man in all branches of the service with a Bible, it isn'. difficult to see where part of the un precedented demand comes from Bui it is stated that quite aside from the unusual war demand, there is greatly increased call for the boo' for use among civilians. If people are sincerely seeking spiritual truth in proportion to their growing interest in the Bible as one source, there should be a tremendous moral reinforcement of civilization after the war And that, of course, will be one of the gains wrested from war's destruction.
